Online reviews, huh? You ever notice it’s always one star or five stars? There’s no middle ground anymore! Nobody ever just gives something three stars and says, ‘Yeah, it was fine. It served its purpose.’ No! It’s either ‘This changed my life! My morning coffee is now an ethereal experience!’ or ‘This coffee machine ruined my morning, possibly my week, and quite frankly, my entire perception of humanity!’ What happened to ‘It was okay’? What’s the deal with the polarization? Is everything either the best thing ever or an absolute catastrophe? It’s like we’ve lost the ability to be merely satisfied. We demand perfection, or we demand utter failure. And where does that leave the average, decent, perfectly acceptable coffee machine? Lost in the digital void, I tell ya!
