Organic. Everything’s organic now. Organic apples, organic milk, organic… water? What makes water organic? Did it grow in a garden? Did it have a childhood? And then you go to the store, and there’s the ‘regular’ section, and the ‘organic’ section, and the organic stuff costs twice as much. So, what, the non-organic food is just… bad? It’s tainted? Is it going to give me some kind of chemical superpower? Or worse, a chemical *weakness*? It’s like we’re being forced to pay extra for food that just… isn’t poisoned. Isn’t that just food? Shouldn’t ‘food’ mean ‘safe to eat’ inherently? What’s the deal with paying a premium for the baseline expectation?
