So, the gym. You’re there to work out, to sweat, to maybe grunt a little. But then there’s the small talk. ‘How’s your day?’ they ask, while you’re halfway through a rep, face red, muscles screaming. My day? My day is *this*! This moment of physical exertion! It’s not a conversational moment! And why do people choose *that* moment to tell you about their weekend? I’m trying to lift weights, not life stories! Can’t we just nod, acknowledge existence, and get back to pretending we enjoy this?
